Our Programs at a Glance

At Extended Family Daycare, we offer more than childcare. We provide a learning experience that supports the whole child. Our programs are thoughtfully designed to balance play, exploration, and early education, giving children the skills and confidence they need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.
Infant/Toddler (24 months):
Our youngest learners are gently guided through routines that foster trust, comfort, and discovery. We focus on building secure relationships while encouraging motor skills, language development, and curiosity through songs, sensory play, and age-appropriate activities.
Preschoolers (3 to 4 years old):
Children learn best through play and hands-on experiences. At this stage, we introduce activities that develop early literacy and math skills, promote social-emotional growth, and encourage creativity. Daily routines include story time, music, art, dramatic play, outdoor exploration, and group learning experiences.
Pre-K, TK & Kindergarten (4-5 years old):
We prepare children for a smooth transition into kindergarten by introducing school-readiness concepts in a fun, engaging way. Children practice recognizing letters and sounds, writing their names, counting, sorting, problem-solving, and following multi-step directions. We also emphasize independence, cooperation, and classroom routines so children feel confident entering school.
School-Age Care (6 years & older):
For children enrolled in elementary school. Care is provided before and after school and during school breaks. Children are given time to unwind after the school day, access to quiet space for homework, and opportunities for creative activities, games, and play that support independence and social skills. During school breaks, care follows a relaxed full-day routine in a dependable, home-based setting.
We understand that every child develops at their own pace. Some children may be ready to explore skills beyond their age group, while others benefit from focusing on foundational experiences a little longer. At Extended Family Daycare, we meet each child where they are, offering enrichment activities to challenge those who are ready to move ahead, and providing extra support where it’s needed. This individualized approach ensures that every child continues to learn, grow, and stay excited about discovery, no matter their starting point.
Daily Activities May Include:
- Circle time with stories, songs, and group discussions
- Literacy activities (alphabet games, writing practice, story retelling)
- Math and science exploration (counting, sorting, nature projects, sensory play)
- Creative art, dramatic play, and music
- Indoor/Outdoor play and physical development activities
- Quiet time and rest periods for recharging
Our Goal:
To create a nurturing, enriching environment where children grow emotionally, socially, physically, and academically, all while having fun and developing a lifelong love of learning.
Nurturing hearts, growing minds.
